The Burning Wheel Method
A disciplined system of yoga training built on 8-Limb Power Yoga,
designed to cultivate strength, clarity, resilience, and depth in modern life.
A Complete
System of Practice
Rather than treating yoga as casual wellness or exercise alone, the method trains the full human system—body, breath, nervous system, attention, emotional capacity, and ethical action.
The Origin of the Burning Wheel Method
Burning Wheel was founded on a simple conviction: most modern yoga training is incomplete.
For years, Jordan Lashley, founder of Burning Wheel, immersed himself in the world of power yoga. The physical intensity was undeniable. The discipline was real, but something essential was missing.
Strength without philosophy. Movement without deeper integration. A system built for fitness, but not for the full demands of a human life.
Rather than settle for a partial practice, he kept studying. Over nearly two decades, Jordan trained across multiple traditions, including Baptiste, Jivamukti, Yin Yoga, and classical yoga philosophy.
What emerged from that search was not another hybrid class style, but a fully integrated training system for modern householders.
The Development of
8-Limb Power Yoga
Years of teaching and study revealed a clear insight: the physical discipline of power yoga becomes far more powerful when supported by the full framework of classical yoga.
This realization led to the development of 8-Limb Power Yoga, a method that reconnects modern physical training with the system described in the Yoga Sutras.
Instead of isolating yoga as exercise, the practice integrates movement, breath, meditation, philosophy, and ethical discipline.

-
The Nervous System — the capacity to stay steady under stress
-
Attention — the ability to direct and sustain focus
