Yoga has so much more to offer than 75 minutes of heated flow. Simply put, it can change your life! This requires intentionally activating and implementing what you are learning into your yoga practice and daily life.
In Yoga Activated, Monique Allen, an 8-Limb Power Yoga teacher trained by Jordan Lashley at the Burning Wheel Yoga School, will expand the teaching using her love of anatomy and physiology and experience as a trained dancer and bodybuilder to give postural cues and modifications to help you go deeper into your poses and transcend your perceived limitations.
Her teaching is steeped in her life wisdom and training gained through being raised as a third culture kid, her journey through motherhood, multiple-business ownership, being an employer, author, and business coach, as well as the hard truths faced as a survivor of childhood health challenges, trauma, and a severe car accident in her 20s.
Monique knows what it means to feel broken, and by all accounts, her experience should have taken her out several times. Through a commitment to mind-body-spirit development, she beat the odds to heal and continues to grow younger, more resilient, and able as she fast approaches 60 years old.

The knowledge of the ancient texts is integrated with today's modern scientific understanding of the human body and mind, forming the path of 8-Limb Power Yoga as taught at Burning Wheel Yoga School. It is a complete practice with the goal of achieving and maintaining mental and physical health, expansion of consciousness, and knowledge of the Self.
You will find that while each class consists of dynamic vinyasa flows, stationary postures, and blissful savasana, each instructor brings their own experience and personality into play when leading a class. Some instructors focus on the physical postures alone, while you might find yourself experiencing a brief lesson in mantras, mudras, or pranayama in another's class. It's important to find the instructor that resonates with you to achieve success in your yoga practice.

This dynamic 60-minute class condenses all the invigorating poses from our classic 8-Limb Power Yoga flow, but in a faster-paced format. Expect less dwell time in each posture and fewer guided breathing exercises, but don't worry, you'll still get the full 8-Limb Power Yoga experience – just in a more efficient time frame. It's the perfect way to squeeze in a powerful workout on a busy schedule.

The Master Practice—Guided Flow & Restore combines all the practices in an 8-limb Power Yoga class plus 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra, also known as 'Psychic Sleep.'
- Class Agenda: 15 minutes of breath and mantra, 45 minutes of poses, and 30 minutes of yoga nidra.

This class is a complete restorative and meditative practice that allows the students to relax and destress their bodies and minds completely, both actively and unconsciously.
This practice is attended in the position of supported savasana (lying on your back bolstered by blankets/towels/blocks). It is recommended that you bring a small pillow and a light blanket to class (read our FAQ for more information). It is a combination of deep physical relaxation and mental alertness. Students are guided through different mental exercises, visualizations, and spiritual meditations.
Yoga Nidra brings the practitioner to a place of deeply relaxed consciousness, the place between the waking world and the dreaming world, where self-healing and illumination may occur. Many students experience deep rest, feeling rejuvenated and refreshed while gaining clarity and increased psychic awareness. It has been scientifically proven that one hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 2 to 4 hours of deep, restful sleep.
